The engine was originally equipped with a turbo-supercharger, which provided the prototype flown in the spring of 1939 with excellent performance at high altitudes. However, US aviation officials preferred less-complex propulsion, fit to operate at a lower altitude. The implementation of Airacobra into mass production and combat units coincided with the rapidly changing circumstances related to the outbreak of war in Europe, and then on the Eastern and Pacific fronts. The first orders for France and Great Britain were not fully delivered, some of them were transferred directly to the US forces fighting in the Pacific and North Africa. With the advent of more effective aircraft types, more than half of the 9,558 produced Cobras were sent under Lend-Lease to the Soviet Union, where the aircraft performed excellently: battles were fought at the low altitude for which the Airacobra was best suited. Of the top 10 Soviet aces, half flew Airacobras.

The most widely produced, in almost 5 thousand copies, and at the same time, the ultimate version of the Airacobra was the P-39Q. The plane was powered by a 1,200 hp Allison engine and differed from the previous versions by armament reinforced with two 0.50-inch machine guns in the underwing fairings. Most of the aeroplanes of this version went to the USSR, where they were used by, among others, the most outstanding pilots of the elite guard units. They were also used in combat by the US and Italy Co-Belligerent Air Forces, mainly performing ground-assault tasks. The ‘Q‘ Cobras were also widely used in the US for training, and many future aces got their wings on them before going to the front. In the post-war period, one P-39Q Airacobra was the personal hack of the Soviet general Fyodor Polynin, commanding the Polish ‘people's‘ aviation.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0777/1809/4091/files/arma-hobby-70055-bell-p-39q-airacobra.jpg?v=1748868025
dora-wings-72018-1-72-savoia-marchetti-s-55a
Savoia-Marchetti S.55A

The Savoia-Marchetti S.55 was a double-hulled flying boat produced in Italy, beginning in 1924. day aircraft such as the F-35 Lightning II and F-22 Raptor are often called ‘fifth generation‘ fighters; qualities such as their highly advanced stealth characteristics and network connectivity set them apart from earlier fighters. Developed under the Joint Strike Fighter Program (JSF), the F-35 integrates multiple functions into its design and there are three types at the time of writing: the F-35A conventional take-off and landing (CTOL) aircraft, the F-35B short take-off, vertical landing (STOVL), and the F-35C, with its larger wing and tail; across these three variants, the F-35 can accomplish various missions without impacting upon its observability and exemplary maneueverability. Multiple sensors are at the heart of its advanced capabilities, and the wealth of data harvested is shared via multifunction advanced data link, helping provide the crew with outstanding information via a large cockpit display and the helmet-mounted display system. The F-35's maiden flight was in December 2006, and deployment with air arms in the U.S., Italy, Japan and more is planned, as the aircraft appears set to take on a major role in the defense landscape in years to come.
About the Model
★This is a 1/48 scale plastic model assembly kit. Thanks to the thrust of its General Electric J79-GE-11A afterburning turbojet engine, it could exceed Mach 2,2 with an excellent rate of climb. But it was not very manoeuvrable and difficult to pilot. The F-104G Starfighter was produced on license by several European aviation industries. From the mid-60s, it became the standard interceptor for many NATO countries including Italy, Germany, Holland, Greece, and Turkey. The armament was basically the same found on previous versions, with a 20mm Vulcan cannon and the option to fit under the wings air-to-air missiles, bombs, or additional fuel tanks to increase the airplane's range. With time, reconnaissance duties were added to the traditional interceptor service.
