Based on the durable Pz.Kpfw. III chassis, the StuG III featured a monoblock structure with an L24 75mm short barreled gun mounted directly on the hull, eliminating the revolving turret and reducing overall height. The StuG III's design allowed the installation of a larger main gun, and led to greatly reduced production costs, making it one of Germany's most important armored vehicles of WWII. The Ausf. B was the first truly mass produced StuG III with over 250 produced from June 1940. The Ausf. B saw action during the Balkans campaign in April 1941 and Operation Barbarossa in June, 1941, and was widely respected for the reliable direct fire support it provided, and for its ability to face formidable Soviet tanks.
About the Model
★1/48 scale assembly model of the Sturmgesch?tz III Ausf.B. G / StuH 42

Unique Welded Gun Mantle
Of the many assault guns utilized by the Germans in WWII, the most numerous was the Sturmgesch?tz III. Based on the durable Pz.Kpfw. III chassis with a completely new superstructure, the revolving turret was eliminated and the short barreled 75mm L/24 gun was mounted directly onto the hull, giving the StuG III an extremely low vehicle profile. Originally intended for close infantry fire support, it was used as self-propelled artillery against enemy strong points. However, when the German forces encountered the Russian KV-I and T-34 tanks on the Eastern front, the situation abruptly changed. To cope with this Russian tank threat, the Germans were forced to upgrade their existing weapons systems. The resulting StuG III Ausf.G, built from late 1942 onwards, used a more powerful, long barreled 75mm L/48 gun.

About the Model
Assembly model of the Sturmgeschutz III Ausf.G Early Version in a compact 1/48 scale. ★Length: 140mm, Realistically replicated gun and square-shaped welded type mantlet. ★Early version distinguishing features such as front bolt-on armor and smoke dischargers faithfully replicated. ★Die-cast chassis for added weight and realism. ★Assembly type treads feature one-piece straight sections with realistic sag effect. ★Kit allows choice of either 75mm L/48 gun or 105mm howitzer. ★Kit includes 1 commander figure (torso) and 2 types of markings.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0777/1809/4091/files/tamiya-32540-stug-iii-ausf_-g-stuh-42.jpg?v=1749113286
tamiya-32591-1-48-sturmtiger
Sturmtiger

Kicking Up a Sturm
This rather rare WWII German AFV featured a fearsome 38cm rocket launcher mounted upon the proven Tiger I chassis, and was developed for use against heavily fortified enemy positions, against which it would fire 1.5m long, 350kg rocket-powered projectiles.
