This boxed set contains:
- 1 x Nissan Bluebird 1600 SSS (1969) 1/24 scale saloon car [Historic Car Series]
Civilian
The small passenger car named Bluebird was born
on August 1, 1959. The Bluebird 310 series immediately dominated the market in popularity upon its release,
establishing a firm position as a family car, and many were exported to overseas markets.
Of all the Bluebird models, the one that garnered the most attention
was the third-generation 510 series, which debuted in August 1967.
The 510 series was a complete departure from the voluminous style of the older 410 series, and
its styling, known as the ‘Supersonic Line,‘
was designed with the image of a super-high-speed jet aircraft in mind.
The power unit is a 4-cylinder OHC engine;
the 1300 series for family use features the L13 type with a single carburetor,
while the 1600SSS (short for Super Sport Sedan)
is equipped with the L16 type with SU twin carburetors.
The suspension is independent on all four wheels,
achieving outstanding cornering performance and excellent handling.
Nissan, which had actively participated in international rallies, achieved a remarkable feat
in March 1970 at the 18th Safari Rally, where
the 1600SSS won both the overall victory and the team victory,
demonstrating the excellence of the Bluebird to the world.
