British Army

At the dawn of World War II, the British army was a very small, all-volunteer, mechanized force intended only to garrison the British Empire. After suffering many early defeats, the army was expanded through general conscription, and with the help of its allies would have few defeats in the later part of the war. Like all armies of its time, the backbone of the British army was its infantry, with a total of 38 infantry divisions fighting in the war. British troops were normally issued the Lee Enfield Rifle, the fastest-firing military bolt-action rifle of the time'able to fire up to 30 rounds a minute by a trained gunner. Contents: 5 unpainted soldiers - 1 unit base with flag - 1 unit card
