German Army

The German self-propelled gun (SPG) Elefant famously known as Ferdinand (after the designer Ferdinand Porsche). History of creating this SPG started in 1942 when prototypes of heavy tanks, developed by Porsche and Henschel took part in tests. The tank developed by Ferdinand Porsche failed to win. Therefore, it was decided to create self-propelled gun based on the chassis of that tank. Ferdinands had a powerful defense armor and were armed by 88 mm guns, but had several construction flaws. Particularly, the poor performance and the lack of antipersonnel weapons. In total, about 90 Ferdinands were built. Contents: 1 unpainted SPG - 1 unit flag Card for wargame can be downloaded from website: www.art-of-tactic.com
