‘Hold the rope, Willie!’

The Pz.Kpfw.V Panther tank is considered as one of the best tanks of WWII. Reliable armor and powerful firepower made this tank a dangerous enemy on the battlefield. On its basis, various combat vehicles were produced, including the Armored Recovery Vehicle Bergepanther. It was first used during the Battle of Kursk in 1943. Bergepanther could perform the functions of a tank tractor, a mobile tank workshop or a mobile electric generator. Its armor protection allowed to evacuate damaged tanks under enemy fire. Air cover of combat units in Wehrmacht units was carried out with various types of weapons, ranging from machine guns to special heavy guns.
