KAMAZ trucks were once among the most common all-wheel-drive vehicles in the Soviet Army. They featured a robust design and a reliable diesel engine located above the cab. Serial production of the KAMAZ-4310 model began in 1981 at the factory in Naberezhnye Chelny. The basic model used by the military was primarily intended for transporting personnel or cargo up to 6 tons in weight. From the mid-1980s, the vehicle became the main transport chassis in the Soviet Army and the primary medium-class vehicle for mounting various types of superstructures and equipment. Common variants included those with KUNG bodies – enclosed cabins for mounting special equipment and transporting personnel. One such body type was the K4320D. These vehicles continue to be in service with the armed forces of several countries, and a certain number of them are still successfully used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
