This boxed set contains:

  • 2 x LVG C.VI 1/144 scale biplane reconnaissance aircraft
1:
Imperial German Air Force
LVG C.VI [double set]
Imperial German Air Force

The LVG C.VI was a German reconnaissance and bomber aircraft with a mixed structure, biplane, fixed undercarriage. The drive was provided by a single engine Mercedes-Benz BZ.IV with a power of 200 HP. The flight of the prototype took place in 1917, and in 1918 serial production began, which ended with the production of about 100 copies of this aircraft. The armament was 2 7.92 mm machine guns (Lmg 08/15 and Parabellum) and up to 90 kg bombs.

The LVG C.VI machine was established in the second half of 1917 as a private plant initiative Luft-Verkehrs-Gesellschaft. The new design was based on solutions used in several other designs of these plants, including: EI, C.II or C.IV. At the same time, it was characterized by lower weight and better performance and maneuverability. From the beginning of 1918, machines of this type were directed to the Western Front. After the end of World War I, they served in the aviation of several countries, including Poland, which used them in intelligence squadrons during the Polish-Bolshevik war of 1919-1921.
