Development of Panzerkampfwagen V Panther was started in the end of 1941. Several different prototypes took part in tests in which the MAN design was chosen. In January 1943, serial production of Panther began and continued until the end of war. In the period from 1943 to 1945, about 6000 Panthers were built, which fought on Eastern and Western fronts.
