Hasegawa - C07 - McDonnell Douglas F-15J Eagle - painted model

The F-15J Eagle is the main force fighter of the Air Self-Defense Force.
Japan's Air Self-Defense Force is the third-largest Eagle-equipped country in the world, following the U.S. Air Force and Israel.
The Air Self-Defense Force, which had previously used the F-104J as a strike fighter,
We investigated the F-X as a successor to the F-104J.
It was decided to adopt the F-15 on December 9th from among many candidate aircraft,
The first aircraft arrived at Gifu Air Base on March 27, 1968.

The F-15J of the Air Self-Defense Force at the beginning of the introduction
It is basically equivalent to the F-15C Block 26 of the United States Air Force.
Some of the Air Force's own renovations were being carried out.
This is the Self-Defense Forces' own automatic warning and control organization (Budget System).
E-2C early warning aircraft to receive critical control
High-speed data device (J/ASW-10 data link system) has been added.
The main modification point is that the antenna at the tip of the vertical tail wing has been changed to mass balance.

The Japan Air Self-Defense Force first deployed the F-15J to Nittawara Air Base.
After focusing on the training of pilots, we began to deploy to the combat air wing in earnest.
Currently, F-15J is a 201 squadron (Chitose Air Base), 202 Squadron (Nittawara Air Base),
203 Squadron (Chitose Base), 204 Squadron (Hyakuri Base), 303 Squadron (Komatsu Base),
It has been deployed to seven squadrons of 304 squadrons (Tsukijo base) and 305 squadrons (Hyakuri base).

The F-15J, like the U.S. Air Force, has a multi-stage improvement program (MSIP).
Every year, the equipment is improved and added.
For this reason, new antennas have been added, and the appearance has also changed.
In addition, the aircraft that can carry the domestic air-to-air missile AAM-3 is also under renovation.
The F-15J is the main fighter of the Air Self-Defense Force.
Together with the FS-X that will be developed in the future, we will play an active role in the defense of the sky in Japan.
