This boxed set contains:
- 1 x Macchi C.202 Folgore (early) 1/32 scale fighter aircraft
Royal Italian Air Force
The Macchi MC.202 Folgore represented a decisive innovation for the fighter units of the Regia Aeronautica. Exceptionally beautiful from an aerodynamic point of view, it was equipped with the powerful German DB 601 inline engines, produced under license by the Italian aircraft industry. The new engines and the solidity of the aircraft’s design provided the Regia Aeronautica with a fighter capable of competing “on equal terms” with Allied fighters. Its flight performance was in fact significantly better than that of the previous generation of fighters equipped with radial engines, such as the Fiat G.50 and the Macchi MC.200. The first series of the MC.202, which entered production in 1941, still featured a configuration close to that of the first experimental aircraft. Manoeuvrable and fast (it reached 600 km/h), the early versions were armed with two 12.7 mm Breda-SAFAT machine guns installed in the nose.
Scale is 1:32
Size of the model is 27.6cm
New parts
Super decal sheet
Accessories bag
3D decals
Photo-etched fret
Masking sheet included
