The Yak-7B fighter is an improved version of the Yak-7. It received a modified M-105PF engine with a power of 1180 hp and enhanced armament by replacing of the ShKAS machine guns with two 12.7 mm UBS machine guns. Later versions of the aircraft received a lowered fairing and a teardrop-shaped cockpit canopy. The aircraft was produced at two factories - Novosibirsk No. 153 from August 1942 to December 1943 and Moscow No. 82 - from May 1942 to July 1944. A total of 5120 Yak-7B M-105PF aircraft were produced. Aircraft of this type became one of the main fighters in the Red Army Air Force and fought on all fronts until the end of the WWII.
